The Cla-Val Model 55L-60 is a UL Listed and FM Approved direct-acting, spring-loaded, diaphragm-type pressure relief valve engineered to provide accurate and dependable overpressure protection in fire protection systems. The valve is designed for installation in any orientation and offers precise opening and closing characteristics within closely controlled pressure limits. Additionally, the bottom plug can be removed and installed in the inlet, allowing the valve to be converted from a globe pattern to an angle pattern flow configuration.

The Model 55L-60 is specifically intended to protect fire protection systems from excessive pressure conditions. When the system pressure exceeds the preset spring setting, the valve automatically opens to relieve excess water pressure to the atmosphere, thereby preventing pressure build-up and safeguarding pipelines, valves, fittings, and other critical system components from potential damage. Once the system pressure returns to the predetermined setting, the valve closes automatically, ensuring reliable and continuous system protection.
